George Square Financial Management helps raise more than £25,000 for charity.
As headline sponsor, George Square was proud to support The Lois Harnett Ball on Saturday 29th September 2018, which was held to raise vital funds for much needed medical equipment for a relative (Lois Harnett) of one of our clients and the children’s ward D34 at the Queen’s Medical Centre.
The black-tie event, which hosted over 250 people, was held at Blotts Country Club and raised more than £25,000 through sponsorship, tickets sales, a raffle and an auction.
Lois Harnett is 19 years old and was born with a virus which left her both mentally and physically disabled. Lois has spent most of her life in and out of hospital and more recently stayed in hospital for 18 months having had over 30 operations. Her mum lived with her at the hospital on ward D34. Due to lack of funding there are not adequate facilities for parents and families during what is usually a very difficult time. Parents experiencing long stays in hospital have no access to a proper kitchen, beds, bedding or washing facilities. Since returning from hospital Lois’s funding is limited and access to the best equipment for her is not available through Social Services.
The funds raised at the Ball will help pay for new hoists, a new wheelchair and other day to day equipment for Lois, which will make her life more comfortable, and also to help make a difference to the parent and families using ward D34 in the future.
The George Square team was out in force at the event to show their support and we are delighted to have contributed to such a worthy cause.
Here we thought we’d share a few pics from evening…
